Parents' Divorce

Dear Amanda,
My parents just got a divorce and I went to live with Mom. However, I still miss my Dad terribly. I want to see my Dad again, but Mom doesn't let me. What should I do?!
Michelle, 10, Michigan

Dear Michelle,
A lot of parents got a divorce. Don't worry, it's pretty normal. Mom doesn't let me visit your Dad? Try to spring out a discussion with her. Maybe she will let you of you talk reasonably with her. Try using the words "miss terribly" or "missing my Dad". Maybe she WILL let you. If she doesn't, just face it. You can't change it. And maybe it's for the best, even though you don't know it now.
